The 4th Annual Achilles Pittsburgh Hope and Possibility® Race will be held on Saturday April 8th, 2017 at the North Park Boathouse. All proceeds from the event will once again benefit the Pittsburgh Chapter of Achilles International in their support of athletes with disabilities. Be sure to check out the Race Results Tab for prior years’ pictures and results from what is becoming one of the area’s fastest growing races!
The Hope and Possibility® Race is open to everyone. Runners, walkers and hand cyclists of all ability levels are welcome. Participants can choose from a 5K or 10K Race. The 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk is a great way for families to show their support. Back by popular demand is the “H&P 9.3 Challenge!” By completing BOTH the 5K and 10K races, all H&P 9.3 finishers will get a custom-designed finisher medal! We’re working on a new design for the 2017 medal, so check back for updates!
If you are an athlete with a disability, this is your opportunity to increase your fitness level, set and achieve new goals, and network with other athletes. Need help getting started with your training? Achilles Pittsburgh has regular work outs throughout the week where you can walk, run or cycle, work with a guide and stay motivated. Check out the Get Involved Tab for more details on workout schedules and registering as an Achilles Athlete.
If you are an experienced runner, take this opportunity to support other athletes, compete against others for a PR, or RUN BOTH of our races to complete the H&P 9.3 and add a unique, custom-designed medal to your collection! We’d also love to have you as a volunteer or guide, so please see the Get Involved Tab for details on how you can help Achilles Pittsburgh throughout the year.
Please support local athletes with disabilities while enjoying the fun, positive atmosphere with your family, friends and everyone from Achilles Pittsburgh! We’re looking forward to seeing you on April 8th, 2017 at the North Park Boathouse!
